# What is the difference between the JSON and CSV tracker downloads?

Both are free, live in Settings > Import & Export > Trackers and cover the range you pick. **Download CSV** gives one row per day and one column per tracker, ready for a spreadsheet; a medication takes one column with the day's status: taken, skipped or missed.

**Download JSON** carries every tracker value with its date and definition, for another app or your own analysis. It is the complete record: each medication's schedule and its changes, its refills, and every dose with its time and [skip reason](https://privacynotes.app/help/skip-dose/). Both files are made on your device.
