# What happens when I skip or miss a dose?

Tap **Skip** on the dose in the Meds pill when you leave it out on purpose. The pill then asks why, with optional reasons: forgot, ran out, side effects, doctor's advice or other. Tapping the selected **Taken** or **Skip** again clears it.

On any day that has a journal entry, a scheduled dose you never mark counts as missed once its time has passed, or at the end of the day when it has no time. Days before your first logged dose do not count. The medication's page in Settings > Statistics > Trackers shows each day as taken, skipped or missed, and its figure counts every scheduled dose on its own, so a day with two doses and one skipped counts as one of two.
