# Can I hide my notes from screenshots and screen sharing?

Yes, in the apps for Android, iPhone and iPad, Mac and Windows. Open Settings > Security > Lock and turn on **Hide from screen capture**. Screenshots, screen recordings and screen sharing then show a blank window instead of your notes, as far as the device allows. On a phone it also hides your notes in the app switcher.

The switch is off by default, applies only to the device you turn it on for, and is free. Browsers and Linux give an app no way to block a capture, so the switch does not appear there. It works on its own and needs no app lock or PIN.
