# What can I do with Ninja, the Cmd+K box? Ninja opens any item, adds new ones and runs commands, all from one box. Press Cmd+K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux, K for Katana (Cmd+P or Ctrl+P works too), or click **Ninja** in the sidebar or the list header. Type part of a title to find notes, tasks, events, journal entries, Vault items, bookmarks, contacts, files, settings, tags and folders. Under the titles, **In the text** shows the line inside a note that holds your words. The first sign you type sets the mode: `+` [adds an item in plain words](https://privacynotes.app/help/ninja-quick-add/), `>` runs a command, `#` lists your tags and `/` your folders, and `>>` after some text [adds it to a list you already have](https://privacynotes.app/help/ninja-add-to-list/). Press Tab on a row for that item's menu, Option+Enter or Alt+Enter to open it in a tab, and Q anywhere to open the box with `+` typed. [Matching happens on your device](https://privacynotes.app/help/search-local/), and Ninja is free. --- Source: https://privacynotes.app/help/ninja
