# How do I add an event or a task by typing a sentence? Press Cmd+K or Ctrl+K, type `+` and the sentence, for example `+Dentist fri 3pm 1h before`, and press Enter. Ninja reads the day, the time, a length, a repeat and an alert, and the rest becomes the title. Each part he read shows as a chip before you press Enter, so you see the result first. Press Q anywhere to open the box with `+` already typed. Put `task`, `note` or `journal` first or last to choose the kind; with none, you get an event. `/Travel` puts it in a folder, `#school` adds a tag and `@work` files it in a space. To keep a word as text, put it in quotes (`"Friday" party`) or click its chip. See [the dates Ninja understands](https://privacynotes.app/help/ninja-dates/).
