# Can PrivacyNotes remind me to take my medication?

Yes. Give each dose a time in Settings > Trackers > Medication and turn on **Remind me** for that medication. [The reminder rings at each dose time](https://privacynotes.app/help/medication-reminder-privacy/) on the days the dose is due, and stays quiet for a dose you already marked. The switch belongs to each device and does not sync, so turn it on on every device you want to hear it on. On a phone the reminder rings while the app is closed. In the desktop app and in a browser it rings while PrivacyNotes is open. A dose without a time, and [an as-needed medication](https://privacynotes.app/help/as-needed-medication/), has no reminder.
