# Does a medication reminder show the medication's name?

No. Every medication reminder reads "Medication reminder" and the time, whatever the medication, so a lock screen or a notification list never shows what you take. This holds even when "Show titles in reminders" is on [for your calendar items](https://privacynotes.app/help/reminders/).

On a phone the reminder times are handed to the phone ahead of time so they ring while the app is closed, and those alerts carry only that text and the time. Tapping one opens the app at today's check-in, where you mark the dose.
