# What keyboard shortcuts are there? Press ? anywhere in the app for the built-in cheat sheet, also available under Settings > About & Help. Shortcuts cover navigation, note actions, formatting, and views - and on Windows and Linux, every Cmd reads as Ctrl and Option as Alt. The essentials: Cmd+K focuses search, J and K walk the list, Alt+Shift+N starts a new note, Cmd+Backspace trashes the selected one, Cmd+, opens Settings. While writing: Cmd+B bold, Cmd+I italic, Cmd+Shift+K inserts a link, Cmd+Shift+9 starts a task list, Cmd+F finds in the note, Cmd+Shift+O toggles the outline. Cmd+\ hides the sidebar, Cmd+Shift+L switches the theme, Cmd+Shift+F enters zen mode (Pro), and Esc backs out of almost anything. --- Source: https://privacynotes.app/help/keyboard-shortcuts
