# Export your Google Keep notes Google Keep has no export button inside the app itself; the official way out is Google Takeout. It takes about five minutes, and PrivacyNotes reads the Takeout file directly, no unzipping needed. ## Export your notes from Google Keep 1. Go to [takeout.google.com](https://takeout.google.com) and sign in with the Google account that owns your notes. 2. Click "Deselect all", then scroll down the product list and tick only "Keep". 3. Click "Next step" and keep the defaults: export once, .zip file. 4. Click "Create export". Google prepares the archive and emails you a download link; with Keep alone this usually takes minutes, not hours. 5. Download the .zip. You can leave it exactly as it is. ## What comes along Titles, note text, and formatting arrive intact. Keep checklists convert to native PrivacyNotes task lists, and your Keep labels arrive as tags. Drop the whole Takeout .zip into the importer. If you already unzipped it, a single .json note file from the Takeout/Keep folder works too. ## Import into PrivacyNotes 1. Open PrivacyNotes and go to Settings > Import & Export. 2. Pick **Google Keep** as the source. 3. Drop in the file you just exported, or click to browse. 4. Check what the preview says will arrive, then start the import. --- Source: https://privacynotes.app/help/import/google-keep
