# Export your Google Calendar Google Calendar exports every calendar you manage as one .zip from its settings, on a computer. PrivacyNotes reads that .zip as it is, no unzipping needed. ## Export all your calendars at once The .zip holds every calendar where you have the "Make changes and manage sharing" permission, your own included. Calendars you can only see, such as holidays or a colleague's calendar, are not in it. On a work or school account, your administrator may restrict export. 1. Open [Google Calendar](https://calendar.google.com) in a browser on a computer. The phone app has no export. 2. Click the gear at the top right, then "Settings". 3. In the list on the left, click "Import & export". 4. In the Export section, click the Export button. Your browser downloads a .zip with one .ics file for each calendar. 5. Keep the .zip as it is. ## Or export one calendar 1. In the list on the left, under "My calendars", point to the calendar name, click "More" (the three dots), then "Settings and sharing". 2. Under "Calendar settings", click "Export calendar". Your browser downloads a .zip that holds that calendar's .ics file. Keep it as it is. ## What comes along Every event arrives with its day, its time and how long it lasts, including events over several days. Repeating events keep their rule, and an occurrence you moved or deleted in Google stays moved or deleted. Each calendar becomes a folder. Reminders you set on an event arrive too, e-mail reminders included: [they become app reminders](https://privacynotes.app/help/reminders/), which need PrivacyNotes Pro to ring. An event that used your calendar's default reminders arrives without one, because Google does not write defaults into the file. The place, the video call link, the guests and the description go into the event's text. [Times show as they did on this device when you imported](https://privacynotes.app/help/calendar-time-zones/). A single .ics file from any calendar app works too, Apple Calendar and Outlook included. Import the same file again later and the events that are already here are skipped, so only new ones are added. ## Import into PrivacyNotes 1. Open PrivacyNotes and go to Settings > Import & Export. 2. Pick **Google Calendar** as the source. 3. Drop in the file you just exported, or click to browse. 4. Check what the preview says will arrive, then start the import. --- Source: https://privacynotes.app/help/import/google-calendar
