# How do I import my notes from Joplin?

Export a JEX file from Joplin and import it. In Joplin, choose File > Export all > "JEX - Joplin Export File" and save the file. Then open Settings > Import & Export, pick Joplin and drop the .jex file in. The newest file from Tools > Create backup works the same way.

Notebooks become folders, nested as deep as in Joplin, and every note keeps its tags and its dates.
