# Can I drag a note onto a folder or a tag?

Yes. Drag a note from the list onto a folder in the sidebar to move it there, or onto **Unfiled** to take it out of its folder. Drop it on a tag to add that tag, and the note keeps the tags it already had. Tasks, bookmarks, contacts, Vault items and uploaded files in Files drag the same way. Rest a dragged item on a closed folder for a moment and it opens, so you can reach a subfolder.

To move several at once, Cmd-click on a Mac or Ctrl-click on Windows and Linux to select them, Shift-click to add a range, then drag any selected item. Dragging needs a mouse, trackpad or pen and a window wide enough to show the sidebar. On a phone, use **Move to folder** in the "..." menu instead.
