# How does the daily check-in work? The check-in card sits at the top of Journals and asks "How are you today?" on a 1 to 10 scale. One tap saves your mood to today's entry, creating the entry if it does not exist yet, and then walks you through your other trackers one at a time: **Next** moves on, **Done** stops. The check-in options on the card let you [log another day](https://privacynotes.app/help/log-missed-day/), skip today, [choose your trackers](https://privacynotes.app/help/choose-trackers/) or hide the card. The check-in is free. For a daily nudge, turn on "Daily check-in reminder" in Settings > Trackers > General and pick the time. It rings once a day on that device only, and stays quiet on a day you already logged a mood or skipped. In a browser it rings while PrivacyNotes is open in a tab. Days that hold only a check-in stay out of the journal list until you turn on **Show check-ins**. --- Source: https://privacynotes.app/help/daily-check-in
