# Is there a calendar, and what shows on it? Yes. Calendar in the sidebar shows every item with a date in one place: events, [journal entries](https://privacynotes.app/help/journal/), notes and task lists with a date, and [the birthdays and other dates of your contacts](https://privacynotes.app/help/contacts/). The list beside it is the agenda of the coming days, and the large view switches between Day, Week and Month. Click an empty day, or drag over empty hours, and Ninja opens with that day and time set, or drag an item to another day. An event is its own kind of item: a note with a day, an end day, a time and a repeat. Type a whole line into [Ninja](https://privacynotes.app/help/ninja-quick-add/) after `+`, for example `+Dentist fri 3pm 1h before`, and he reads the day, the time and [the alert for you](https://privacynotes.app/help/reminders/). Type a day alone, such as `oct 31`, to open the calendar there. A note or a task list can carry a day, a time and an end day too, from the Schedule row of its "..." menu. The calendar is free. --- Source: https://privacynotes.app/help/calendar
